Diagnosis and repair options for UPVC doors and multipoint locking mechanisms.
How we can help
- UPVC door locking faults
- Multipoint mechanism assessment
- Door alignment and closing issues
- Handles, cylinders and lock component replacement
Before you contact us
Please explain whether the door is open or closed, and whether the handle lifts or the key turns. Photos can help us assess the issue.
Common UPVC door problems
A handle that will not lift, a key that will not turn or a door that catches on the frame can have different causes. The door alignment, cylinder, handles and multipoint mechanism need to be assessed together before deciding which parts require repair or replacement.
Tell us whether the door is open or closed and whether it locks normally while open. Avoid forcing a stiff handle or key, as this can damage the hardware further.
What to send us
- Your postcode and a description of the fault.
- A photo of the door, handles and lock area.
- If the door is already open, a photo of the metal locking strip and any visible manufacturer markings.
- Whether the fault began suddenly or became worse over time.
Attach the photographs directly in WhatsApp before pressing Send.
Frequently asked questions
Does a stiff handle mean I need a new lock?
Not necessarily. Alignment, worn components or a mechanism fault can produce similar symptoms. An assessment helps identify the appropriate repair.
Can you replace a multipoint mechanism?
We can check the mechanism specification and available replacement options. Compatibility depends on the existing door and hardware.
Can you help when the door is stuck closed?
Send us the details and location so we can assess the situation and confirm whether we can attend. We may request proof of ownership or authorisation.
How much will the repair cost?
The quotation depends on the fault, components and work needed. We discuss the options before proceeding.
